ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
All welcome at our HDG Studio, 37 Quarry Rd, Sherwood, 4075 on Wed 19th April, 10am - 3pm Say … in front of us we have 22 trees, 3 fences, 5 sheep, I shed, 2 farmers talking, 7 crows squawking, the partridge somewhere – and more. There are hundreds of ways to arrange each of these ‘bits’. And Look at the colours. Hundreds of them too! How do we decide if any ‘bits’ or colours can be changed to make a better picture? And how do we capture the once tranquil spirit of the place when the farmers are now cutting down the pear tree and the crows are chasing the partridge? Join us for the fun. |
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Regarding Colour, the artists that Wendy found most influential were Bonnard (France) and Soutine (Belarus). Regarding Composition, influences were Marmol (Spain) and Rubens (Flanders). She has published four Art books, and has travelled throughout USA, NZ and the Middle East promoting Arts education. She is listed in Who’s Who of Australian Women for her services. Her own paintings usually deal with subjects concerning human circumstances embedded in social, political, environmental and literary references. These multi-levelled paintings require considerable juggling with Composition and Colour and she is looking forward to work-shopping how to keep life in the jungle, simple. Please contact Marie O’Flaherty with any questions at [email protected]. Registration closes Friday, 7 April ‘23. |
