ABOUT THE WORKSHOP This is a Portrait Workshop with a model. Peter Fung will demonstrate a variety of techniques used for portraiture using oils but acrylics will be equally suitable. The opportunity is yours to explore while being guided by an experienced artist and tutor. You will have time to put into practice some of the shared ideas together with a group of like-minder artists. An afternoon to discover your creative side and indulge yourself! |
ABOUT THE ARTIST Peter Fung has always loved art. His first art teacher, from HK, taught him that a good artist is one that paints often. So after coming to Australia he completed a number of different courses including Chinese and pastel painting but ultimately returned to concentrate on his first love which is oil painting. 'I had the good fortune of having Frank de Silver as my art tutor for a time' he recounts. For the last 20 years he has had the privilege of having Jack Wu, a portrait artist as his mentor. An artist whom he regards as one of the best portrait painters in the world. Peter was selected as a finalist in the Inaugural Brisbane Portrait Competition in 2021 and says that he owes that partly to HDG-Artists for the workshops it has provided to members on a regular basis over the years. |
