Introduction to Lino Cut Artworks with Christine Groh
A Saturday Workshop Event
When: 11 April ‘26, 10am to 3pm
Where: HDG-Artist Studio, 37 Quarry Road Sherwood
Cost: $30 members $40 non-members
(Maximum number of participants 14)
The Workshop will commence with a brief meet and greet session followed by an introduction to lino-cut printmaking, its history and famous artists associated with the this style of printing. This will be followed by 20 minutes of drawing a design on paper and then transferring the design onto a linoleum block. The outline of the design will then be cut using a cutting tool.
A discussion regarding the choice of paper and ink will be followed by the printing process. With the aid of a brayer, printing ink is spread onto a sheet of paper. The lino-cut is then placed on top of the ink and pressed down so that the ink adheres to the block. A print can then be made on a clean sheet of paper by using the lino-cut.
A ‘Show & Tell’ session will bring the Workshop to a close.
